WELCOME FROM PRINCIPAL

On behalf of the extended Lisheen N.S. community, I would like to welcome you to our new and improved website.

Lisheen N.S. is a unique co-educational school located in the picturesque green countryside of Aughadown parish, yet only 8 km from the bustling town of Skibbereen.

In Lisheen N.S. each child is nurtured to grow in confidence, to learn in their own individual style and to gain knowledge in the importance of prioritising their own well-being.

Our aim is to give children the tools to build long- lasting friendships within our community, with equality and inclusivity always remaining the focus of our teaching.

The school is well- equipped with three large classrooms and a large general purpose hall, perfect for whole – school events. There are also two support rooms. Each classroom benefits from a spacious interior, interactive whiteboards and numerous display boards of the children’s work. The classrooms also have computers, access to a range of ipads, a library area and a nature table.

Lisheen N.S. has three mainstream class teachers, two support teachers, two Special Needs Assistants, a part-time school secretary, and a caretaker.

Outside there is a vast playing area, a basketball court, and just recently the development of an outdoor garden/classroom area.

Our school continues to provide the best possible education for each child in a safe, secure, happy environment. We strive to develop every aspect of the child, including their social, emotional, spiritual and educational development.
